I had always wanted to visit Kellie's Castle but was advised against it
as it is reputed to be haunted by the ghost of it's owner, William
Kellie Smith. As it was a long weekend, we reached Kellie's Castle
rather early and had the place somewhat to ourselves before other local
tourists came. We explored every nook and corner of the castle as well
and walked upto the highest rooftop. The view was amazing at that point.
It is worth a visit and would visit again, maybe with lesser tourist
crowd the next time. RM5 per entrance. I think it should just be free or cheaper or at least
comes with a free cold drink after that. The history behind the
unfinished castle is interesting, maybe for someone who is curious
enough about the past stories. Not too sure about those who don't
though. Scenery throughout is really nice. I went with 3 of my friends during my sem break around 4pm. The weather was hot and sunny,
perfect for capturing some really nice pictures. Kellie's Castle has an interesting but sad history, and if in the area
is certainly worth a visit. The best way to get there is by car, or
alternatively you can get a train to Batu Gajah and then a taxi to
Kellie's Castle - it's too far to walk from Batu Gajah.
